A few months before thanksgiving, Margaret called me and had the idea of spending Thanksgiving with us in California. My immediate gut reaction was “of course that wont work- how would I then possibly have the guilt and anxiety I am so desperately used to in not flying home?”, but then I thought…..that would be great!
The trip was awesome (minus everyone getting sick), but still great. Two highlights were ditching the kids at Daycare and doing a daytrip to Tahoe with Margaret, Raghib and Maureen as well as the concert.
So, the backstory here- Margaret and Raghib’s wedding turned virtual when COVID first hit, and Raghib being the romantic guy he is, wanted to make the event more special by having Margaret’s favorite band (Golden Shoulders from Grass Valley, CA) make a quick video saying “congratulation”. Instead, they made a custom recording of her favorite song and sent it- very cool! Well, fast forward a few years and they played a show the night after Thanksgiving out here, so we went. At the end of the concert, the main singer stopped, told the entire story of the wedding video and then called out Margaret and Raghib in the audience and played their wedding song while they danced! Like Moses, the crowd parted to make room and was a really special event.
Anyways, I know my 1 reader is most interested in photos, so here they are!
