A little late, but here are some of the highlights (sure I am missing many) from Odin’s second year (ages 1-2). Other posts have the “what did we do”, but here are some memories from this year:
- He learned to come into our room and say “Good Morning Mommy, Good Morning Daddy!” in the mornings
- His OBSESSION with cars….real cars, toy cars, and constantly announcing “GREY CAR! RED CAR!”
- The need for (at least) one round of Twinkle Twinkle Little start before bed
- Talking about the Big Storm we had (which knocked out our power for a few days), and how the lights were broken
- Him taking care of his Elmo Doll by telling it he loves him, plenty of kisses
- Transition to potty training going….reasonably well! Lots of “Look! Pee!” as he was excited to empty his little potty into the toilet
- Doing bug hunts in the back yard (Maureen hiding his toy bugs like an Easter Egg Hunt)
- Pointing at Maureen’s belly and announcing “Baby!”
- Transitioning to a big boy bed from the crib, coming into our room and getting some cuddles
- An unfortunate fall on the wood floor, resulting in a pretty big cut and (hopefully not) scar
- Him loving fire trucks and cars, but getting very nervous if a toy car makes noise or lights up
- Him counting to 10 in no particular order
- Thinking sleeping in a tent was hilarious on his first camping trip, and getting VERY excited about it
