May Lake (in September)

During my birthday weekend in Tahoe, we decided it would be fun to get in another weekend in Yosemite this year (tough life, right?). Jesse took the lead in getting the permit and before we knew it, we were off!

Did I mention it was 19 degrees when we got there? well…it was (awesome).

This is a post that lends itself much better to pictures- as eloquent as my narration is, I find it pales in comparison to visuals.

May lake when we got there. It’s only a mile hike from the road which lets you explore the rest of the day without a backpack

The rule for fires was anything down and dead was fair game. If you didn’t notice, there wasn’t much in those categories that were ALSO dry. Luckily, we were able to find a dead tree about halfway up the hike which supplied us with firewood.

The lake had a really pretty fog over it in the morning.
