Road Trip; Seattle -> Port Townsend -> Portland -> Big Trees
So this was my first week after leaving PG&E. It’s been weird to not constantly think about work and even weirder to not have two phones but I think it’s a change i can certainly get used to.
I flew up to Seattle to see David and Christine which is always enjoyable. We had dinner with Jessica, Steve Kate and Ben as well. Christine lent me her BMW Convertable to drive to Port Townsend…not a bad way to start off the trip!
Sophie who was my roomate in SF lives in Port Townsend Washington now and I stayed with her for a few days. Her living situation is…..awesome. Here’s some pictures from her deck looking out into the bay
Sophie had a bonfire one night on her beach where i met some of her friends. One of her friends is a 20-year old girl named Mollie. Mollie had the next day off work so we decided to go hiking together in the Olympic Mountain range. It was awesome! Enter obligatory pictures…..

After Port Townsend, i flew to Portland, Oregon where I met up with Shizzo, Isaac and Cat. They had driven my car up from San Francisco to meet me. Crazy thing was that we met up! i talked to some people on the train leaving the airport asking where to tell the others to meet me and after memorizing directions to a brewery (my phone was nearly dead), i called them with the name and shut my phone off. After waiting about 45 minutes they showed up! Funny; 10 years ago that would be the standard but it’s good to know that we can still function (somewhat) without technology.
We mainly hung out around Portland, went to a museum (where i learned that tsunami’s are apparently comparable to Chuck Norris’ fists)
We stayed in portland for a few days and then headed to big ass trees in Klamath California. We stopped to check out the Portland George along the way
In Klamath we did our thing- went hiking and saw giant trees. We’ve done this trail multiple times but it never gets old:

We drove back to SF a little over a week after I left….not a bad first week
